Who Else Is Burned Out, Especially In 2020

I’m going to preface this with the fact that I don’t have the answers. This is not a “10 tips to stop burn out!” or self improvement post that you may be used to seeing on the internet. I know that’s where the dough is at, but sometimes the best riches are the ones you cultivate for your self. Admitting that you’re tired is the first of them.

2020 has been a crazy year. And it will most likely not go back to the normal we were used to and took for granted. Maybe that’s a good thing. But I just want to reach out to you all to remember to take care of yourselves. It’s easy to get burned out this year, regardless of which industry you are in.

This blog is geared towards people in the tech industry (hence the name) but don’t matter where you are, I gotchu. This isn’t an industry problem. It’s a human problem.

I think I may have covered this in an earlier post…but the more we stay at home the more we feel like we don’t’ work, which causes us to work more, which causes us to burn out faster. Because the computer is so close and the commute non-existent, the extra minutes behind the computer adds up. I’m no exception to that.

And I ain’t gonna lie. I’m burned out.

I just want to relax by the beach somewhere and watch the ocean. Maybe eat some good food. Listen to good music. Sun is setting. That’s the goal. It’s easy to lose yourself in the hustle culture where you are always on go, go, go mode. Success is not something that waits for you, you have to chase it. But sometimes in the chase you forget about the reason that you started the chase.

Maybe I just needed to get that off my chest. To admit that I’m tired and its ok to take a step back from chasing your dreams from time to time. Sometimes its the small things that is all we need.

And with you. Well you got this far on this raw brain fart of a post. So I hope you have been doing well, wherever you are in the world, and I thank you for finding my little post and hope that you take care of yourself as well.
